The Mobile App Industry Is Surging With Over 50 Billion Downloads Projected by 2012

GetJar estimates that mobile phone users will download approximately 50 billion applications in 2012 (tastes them being free apps naturally) the 92% yer over year growth rate from the 7 billion apps that have been downloaded in 2009. The platforms that deliver these apps are led this year through the iPhone's 30% share of the market followed by the aggressively growing Androids 23% market share. The iPad has taken 21% and RIM following with 12%. Windows mobile remains to be chasing from the distance with only 6%, however if they iron out your difficulties with Windows phone 7 along with their "app store" it's probably a secure bet to express they'll have a larger share of the market.

In relation to its market potential, based on investment firm Rutberg & Company the mobile app industry attracted over $600 million in capital investment. That was close to 10% of investment in to the mobile industry that was $6.1 billion. What's interesting is that figure is near to triple the figure from 2009 of $2.1 billion in whole mobile investments.

Apps have grown to be increasingly more an element of everyday routine, on the metro, bus, on the job and usually anywhere humans gather, you will see individuals with both hands on their own smartphone fully engaged. This is even transitioning up to desktop PC's. According to editor in chief of Macworld Group Mark Hattersley "From the customer viewpoint, programs have not been that exciting, but apps are extremely an easy task to wear or take off your system that it actually seamless comfort." What users could eventually be looking for are quite obvious apps to create life simpler. With over 300,000 apps in Apple's App Store alone, this is the message that's safe to say has become well accepted.
